The Fulton Corridor Revitalization Project
LMDC, as lead agency, has completed and made available the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Fulton Corridor Revitalization Project. The EA is now available for public review and comment – written comments will be accepted on this EA until 5:00PM on March 14, 2008. Comments should be directed to: Jane Brogan, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, Attention: Fulton Corridor Revitalization Project, One Liberty Plaza, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10006. The Fulton Corridor Revitalization Project is a plan intended to revitalize and improve Fulton and Nassau Streets and their environs so that they can be a vibrant mixed-use retail area serving the surrounding commercial and burgeoning residential sectors as well as the numerous tourists and other visitors to the area. The Project involves streetscape improvements, grants for improvements to storefronts and facades of buildings, and the creation, expansion, or improvement of open spaces within the project site. Open space-related project elements may include: the reconfiguration and expansion of DeLury Square, the creation of new open space at Burling Slip; the enhancement of existing open space at Titanic Memorial Park; and improvements to existing open space at the Pearl Street Playground. LMDC has allocated approximately $37.36 million dollars to the project and is leading the environmental review process preceding the implementation of the project by New York City Economic Development Corporation.
